We let you know where you can park your ride in Interlaken when staying here for the night or longer.
As in every city, big or small, finding a parking lot is pretty much always an issue. Whether because you spend a fortune or you have to parkway on a dodgy spot somewhere outside the city. Nevertheless, if you did a bit of research, such as reading this article, before arriving here in the middle of the night without knowing where to park, you will be able to find a spot for sure. Here are our top spots and hidden parking gems of Interlaken.
Public parking zone behind NO.8 Boutique Hotel Interlaken
Around the NO.8 Boutique Hotel Interlaken, you will be able to find some public parking lots which are free of charge from 7 PM until 8 AM. Those are a great opportunity if you arrive late and if you are just staying here for the night. It is located at the Aarestrasse, 3800 Unterseen, and Beatenbergstrasse, 3800 Unterseen.
Bärenparking and Park Zentrum Interlaken (payed)
The Bärenparking, as well as the Park Zentrum Interlaken, are both located in the heart of Interlaken. Those car parks are the newest ones in Interlaken and due to the central location, they are highly frequented especially in summer when Interlaken is busy. Nevertheless, due to the size, often you will be able to find a spot here. The maximum price for a full-day ticket (24 hours) is CHF 25.-.
Migros Parking
Interlaken's biggest multi-story car park you will find at Migros Supermarket next to Interlaken West train station. The car park is accessible 24/7 and due to the size, you pretty much always find a spot here. In case you are staying at NO.8 Boutique Hotel Interlaken, this parking lot is only 5 minutes walk away. Check the “how to get to us” description to find out more. The maximum price for 24 hours is CHF 20.- which makes Migros probably the cheapest paid parking in Interlaken. Due to the central location, it is definitely the spot with the best value for money.
Neuhaus am See
If you are up for a swim after a long day of exploring the area, we recommend Neuhaus beach (CHF 3.50 “entrance fee” per person but only when they are in the mood of cashing in). Here you have the chance of either finding a place to park directly by the hotel and restaurant Neuhaus which will cost you a few swiss francs, depending on how long you want to park. Make sure to bring coins, most of the older machines do not accept any other method of payment.
An alternative to the paid parking is the free parking between the Interlaken golf course and the Restaurant Neuhaus. This parking section is not labeled as a paid parking zone, which automatically makes it a free one. This is pretty much how it works. If you are not sure whether you are in the right spot just check the other parked cars around you. If they have placed a white parking ticket behind the front shield, you better get one as well. If not, well congratulations, you found a free parking lot!
Long term parking
You like Interlaken so much that you would like to stay here a little longer? In this case, we highly recommend you to get a parking card from the local government. Those cards can be purchased online and cost CHF 80.- for a whole month. We do not recommend “wild” parking just somewhere for a longer time if you do not want to land up dealing with the police to get your wheel clamp removed.
